the girl in the mirror

We went to a Shrimp Festival up in Ferdinand Beach about an hour north of here last Saturday. It was a marvelous festival. It had lot of booths, mixture of everything-antiques, food, art and crafts, clothes, junk. I loved it and I know we will be going there yearly.

Annabelle fell in love with the mirror.
Which girl is real? LOL
A close-up.
Her papa joined in.

ABC's of Faith

I saw the ABC's of Faith on a plague and I didn't like the plague or the prices but I loved the ABC's saying.

I quickly copied it by writing it down on my little flip over notebook I always keep in my purse. I had that around in my purse a while but kept flipping it out and read it every now and then.

Then I realized I could stitch it up. I looked through my pattern books for the lettering that I'd like. I didn't see what I liked.

Then at Michael's, they had a kit for stitchery and I spied the lettering I totally digged. I used the coupon and bought the kit. Happily I opened the box as soon as I got home and thought, YES!

I got busy tracing it over a paper and re-wrote a few time to figure the way I wanted it placed.

When I was satisfied, I next looked for a cloth I'd like and I got this light taupe cloth with lines all across. Sort of like a notebook. Then I taped the paper to our glass sliding door and the cloth over it and traced it out.

I stitched whenever I could. I started at the bottom and worked my way up. For some reason, I always start at the bottom, even with my x-stitch projects and all. I noticed in the books, they usually recommended to start in the middle or top to down. Well, there's no right or wrong as long as you get it done!

Tah Dah! Now I need to frame it or stitch it to a wall quilt. I'm not quite sure yet!

Beautiful Orange Snake

We were weeding and cleaning the fence area next to that old blue van. I picked up the lid of the trash cans and there I saw the Beautiful Orange Snake. My first thought was to shoo it away and check where the kids were and where Pepper was. Kids were inside the fence "helping" papa dig out the dead plant. Then I realize we will be working behind the fence and that's where the snake would be. I felt bad for the snake and went to get my senor.

I told him about the snake and he didn't even see it. I kept pointing to it. It sort of blended in with all those pine needles laying about. But you couldn't miss the bright orange snake. But he did not even see it then he finally saw it. I was amazed.

He beheaded it. Then he wanted me to picture it. Oh shoot! I missed the opportunity to picture the snake where I saw it and how my senor had not seen it.

Both our kids were in a state of panic and uncertainty, watching and wanting to know what it is.

When they discovered it was a snake, hoo boy, Jonah kind of freaked out until we told him that the snake is dead. But the snake body is still moving... duh?

Yes it is but the head is over there. Jonah said bad snake, bad snake.

All smiles for the picture.
Jonah's not too sure and kept pointing to the "blood spot" and saying that the snake's.
The beheaded snake. Beautiful! Isn't he or is it a she?
The snake's body.
The snake's body flipped over and his under-belly is pretty too.

We felt bad for the snake. But it's for ours and the dogs' safety.

Isaac wishes he was brave enough and wanted to know how to pick up the snake and put it elsewhere. But all he know is to kill it. If it weren't a poisonous snake, he'd have tried to move it.

Sorry snake.

Covered in dirt!

My little kids are happy being dirty and having their yummy Popsicle. It's rare to see them all dirtied up and I'm delighted. My little princess looking so pretty like that.

Jonah got even dirtier after eating spaghetti. He loves loves spaghetti. His sister, Annabelle has fallen asleep and would not get up so she missed out eating spaghetti.

Of course, Jonah had his bath soon after and he had fun wading in the tub all by himself. When he was done bathing and in his p.j. and he zoom to wake his sister up and telling her that he finished bath and making her mad. Giggling!

Then she had her solo bath!
