Hoggetowne Medieval Faire

Last Sunday, we went to Hoggetowne Medieval Faire in Gainesville, Florida. It was about an hour and 15 min drive from home to there. We were talking about medieval faire in Maryland and wondered if there's one in Florida and we searched the website and we were thrilled and we had posted the date on the wall to remind us about the faire last fall. So all fall and winter long we waited until late January. When that weekend arrived, it was raining and cold and we didn't want to go. They only have it 2 weekends so we hoped the last weekend would be better. It was and we were so happy.

We went and it is different from the one in Maryland. Theirs are permanent site and have it all fall long on weekends. While at Hoggetowne is at the county fair site.

The witch wizard blowing huge bubbles. Annabelle is fascinated by those huge bubbles floating away and some pop in the process. Papa hugging his girl. Jonah smiling for me.

Kids participating and watching what this lady wizard giving magic wands for them to zap at. They got a magic shiny pebble that they held on all day long. We had to make sure they don't put it in their mouth and trying to direct them to leave in their pocket. LOL!

They were dancing all around here and there and seen them in the parade and at the maypole.

People there were really into the spirit of dressing up and the parade, the booths and all were just fun and all to watch. Kids were pointing this and that. They were so animated and wanted to know what's that, and what's this??

Isaac trying on the helmet and he sure look good. I was surprised how it is too big on him. When I took it off the display to have him to wear it for picture, I thought it'd be too small for him!

There was a guy carrying 2 baskets, one with cute black rabbit and the other for tip. Gee! But the kids were delighted and petted the rabbit. I never thought to do that and I was oooh and ahhing over the adorable rabbit.

The parade. Golly gee! It was a long one and I was surprised at how many people were there.

We were at the booth trying on outfits and wanting to buy so we can dress up when we go to pirate festivals and faire like this one. So I hurried and stood in front of the parade just as it was ending.

This lady had a parrot on her shoulder and a bat at her belt loop and Jonah spotted and pointed to the "bird", the lady just went to them and let them pet them and play with it. It had a loop where you can make the head move or their wings to flap.

This lady was Wow and my dear senor thought so too!! The kids were frightened by the creepy Pharaoh and wanted us to hurry on by but we stay there and watch them. He was good and he would fondle their head while they took their pictures.

There was the Irish Celtic band and we stayed to watch. No singing, more like banging and banging! We all were clapping to the beats.

This lady jumped off the bleachers and started dancing and all.

Another show after the band. The participants posing for pictures.

Kids always exclaimed when they see horses anywhere.
Isaac trying on the hat to see see. Nah!

The merry go around. No motor. It's two men pushed! WOW!

We had a lot of fun and we know we will return there yearly!
